One More Reason to Rewrite Your Bucket List...

Now I think I've heard it all. It appears that two women in Florida have been arrested for doing something that was on their bucket lists. Heads up friends, if it's illegal, you might REALLY want to consider revising that part of your bucket list. Ha! Check out the story below. =)

Today, a Facebook friend posted the following poem by Maya Angelou. I hadn't read this for a while but I wanted to share it so I decided to blog it for everyone to see. For me, this passage is about the wisdom that sometimes only comes with living life through good times and bad. This also pretty much sums up and reaffirms most of the things I feel we "need" to know... especially the last few lines. Enjoy!

I've Learned That

I've learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow...
I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights...

I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life."
I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance...

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back...
I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision...
I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one...
I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone....
People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back....
I've learned that I still have a lot to learn....
I've learned that people will forget what you said,
people will forget what you did,
but people will never forget how you made them feel.


You have worth!

There are some out there who struggle with knowing their value. I just wanted to take a moment to remind each and every one of you that you do have worth. Sometimes life is difficult and we can feel that we never measure up... like nothing we do makes a difference or we're not quite good enough. I've been there, I have those days but I always remind myself that I am here for a purpose and even if I don't quite know what that purpose is yet, I still have worth. Each of us have our own unique qualities and special talents that add value to this world. Sure, there will be times when you feel worthless but please, please always know that you can and do make a difference. You absolutely DO have worth. I like to believe that everything we do has some effect on the world and I mean everything, no matter how small. Each of us is here for a reason, we're all connected in some way and we all can and do make a difference. Again, YOU HAVE WORTH!
